Adam Greenwood, Head of School
Adam Greenwood has over 16 years of leadership experience. He previously worked as a Head of School in London and has taught in both the public and private sectors. Prior to education, he was a Captain in the British Army. He commissioned from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst into the Royal Signals as a technology specialist and later deployed to Helmand Province in Afghanistan.
After a spell in the classroom, his first administration position was as Head of Lower School. He completed his bachelor’s degree at Loughborough University and has an M.B.A. in Educational Leadership (International) from University College London.
He is married to Kacey (also an educator and a native of Daphne, Alabama) and they have three children Katty (4th grade) and James (1st grade) who both attend ADS and Matilda Ruth (3 years old) who is excited to join her siblings at the school next year.
Kelly Jenkins, Director of Curriculum and Instruction
Kelly Jenkins comes to ADS with over 20 years of experience in elementary education. She attended Mississippi University for Women where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies. After working in the legal field for a short while, she decided to change careers and completed her teaching certification at Mercer University. She then went on to receive a master’s degree in educational leadership, and a specialist degree in early childhood education with a reading endorsement from Mercer. She has taught PreK, Kindergarten, first, second, and fourth grade. For the past 4 ½ years, she was the Curriculum/PYP Coordinator at Notre Dame Academy.
Kelly enjoys spending time with her husband Kevin, their four children, and their three dogs. Her hobbies are cooking, arts and crafts, and most especially reading.
Joanna Gordon, Office Administrator
Joanna Gordon is originally from Pickerington, Ohio, and attended Ohio University, where she earned a B.S. in Child and Family Studies. Joanna joined ADS in 2012 and has enjoyed witnessing not only the growth of the children but also the remarkable development of the school itself. She lives in Atlanta with her husband, Sven, and their two sons, Jack and Max.
Sophia P. Tsiotsias, Communications, Development & Marketing Director
Sophia Tsiotsias is originally from Rochester, N.Y. but was raised in Atlanta where she received her Bachelor's in Marketing from Georgia State University and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She comes to us from CNN and Cartoon Network where she held the position of Senior Licensing & Marketing Manager for 10 years. In 2016, she joined ADS as our Marketing Manager. In 2018, she was promoted to Communications, Development & Marketing Director where she leads all our marketing, fundraising, social media and external communications. She also developed our first after school competitive sports program in 2017 including Volleyball, Cross Country, Basketball & Soccer and was the driving force in securing ADS in the Metro Atlanta Athletic Conference (MAAC) for middle school sports. Her love and dedication for ADS shows as she has been instrumental in the growth and development of our school.
Sophia has been a member of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral since childhood where ADS serves as a ministry and extension of the church. She has served in various youth and adult church organizations including Co-President of GOYA, Maids of Athena and Daughters of Penelope. She also served as one of the lead marketing representatives for the church's largest fundraiser, the Atlanta Greek Festival. She loves spending time and traveling with her husband and enjoys cooking, playing sports and volunteering in various non-profits.
Elizabeth Figueroa, School Counselor
Elizabeth Figueroa, LCSW, joins ADS in 2024 as the school counselor for grades K-8. Elizabeth is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 12 years experience working with young people in private practice, as well as providing social, emotional, and academic support as a school counselor in an independent school setting.
Growing up in the Atlanta area, Elizabeth attended local parochial schools IHM and St. Pius X before completing her undergraduate work at Boston College, with a MA in Human Development from the Lynch School of Education. After a year of volunteer work in community mental health with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps after graduation, Elizabeth pursued a Master of Social Work (MSW) at Washington University in St. Louis. She has worked in the social work and education fields since 2012.
Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her husband and three boys, and is excited to become part of the ADS community!
Chu Chu Demboba, School Receptionist
Chu Chu Demboba is originally from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and now calls Atlanta home, where she lives with her husband and two sons. One is a proud proud alumnus of Annunciation Day School and the other currently in 7th grade. Deeply committed to her community, she’s active in her church and finds joy in supporting students, families, and staff every day at our school. Her welcoming smile and dedication to our school make her an invaluable part of the ADS family.
